Do Reba and I Enjoy the Same Music? Anna Bryan The first time I listened to CMT Mobile's artist of the month Reba McEntire's new album Keep on Loving You, I couldn't help but ask myself if Reba and I have been listening to the same music. Like anyone else who listens to country radio, I've been singing along with "Strange" for the past few months. But some of the other songs on the album were already familiar to me as well. "I Want a Cowboy" was one of my favorite tracks from Katrina Elam's self-titled debut album. "Nothing to Lose" is about a bus trip through my home state of Georgia and is an extra cut on Georgia native Trisha Yearwood's 2007 Greatest Hits album. "8 Crazy Hours in the Story of Love" is another song that grabbed my attention because I first heard it on Shelly Fairchild's album Ride. While I still love the original versions of these songs, Reba brings her signature style and makes each one sound brand new to my ears. Which song originally recorded by another artist would you love to hear Reba sing? |
